Conducting

The best in music is not found in the notes.
Gustav Mahler

For me, music is where people come together to create something special. As a conductor, I see my role not only as leading an orchestra musically, but above all as bringing people together, inspiring enthusiasm, and growing beyond ourselves as a team.

At the heart of my work is a harmonious, respectful, and at the same time challenging collaboration. An orchestra can only reach its full potential when trust, unity, and a shared passion for music form the foundation. It is important to me to both support and challenge musicians – whether this involves technical development, musical expression, or personal experiences.

Especially in the amateur sector, an exciting challenge lies in combining the joy of a shared hobby with a high musical standard. Many musicians voluntarily dedicate their free time to music – this commitment deserves appreciation while also providing the opportunity to achieve new goals and bring extraordinary projects to life.

My aim is to explore new paths, embrace new challenges, and create programmes that go beyond the ordinary. Music should not only be performed, but truly experienced. Through my work, I want to broaden the horizons of musicians and offer audiences unique concert experiences that remain memorable.

Because in the end, it is not only about perfect notes, but about the emotions, stories, and shared moments that are created through music.

A selection of works I have had the opportunity to conduct:

  • Bert Appermont – A Hero’s Tale
  • Jan de Haan – Banja Luka
  • Johan de Meij – La Quintessenza
  • Jean Sibelius – Finlandia
  • Otto M. Schwarz – The Magic Mountain
  • Reinhard Summerer – Divertimento Veneziano
  • Thomas Doss – Jungle
  • Otto M. Schwarz – Man in the Ice
  • Jan de Haan – Inspiration
